Bio

John Stewart is a mortgage specialist with over 35 years of experience in mortgages and lending. From his first job straight out of college at the Toronto office of United Dominions Investment Corp, in equipment financing and real estate loans, John knew he had found the right career in lending - something he enjoyed and allowed him to help people. After working in the Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary and Vancouver offices of UDI, John was offered the position of Branch Manager at UDI Kamloops in 1975, and jumped at the chance to run his own office. John also obtained his Mortgage Broker's license in 1975. When United Dominions was purchased by CIBC in 1982, John struck out on his own to start Stewart Mortgage Corp. with his wife Gail Stewart. Kam-Mic Investment Corp. was created a year later in 1983 as a lending vehicle to provide private funds to Stewart Mortgage's clients.

 As President of Stewart Mortgage Corp. John’s key duties include meeting with clients, assessing their credit data and bringing the client and
borrower together. He takes immense pride in offering good advice and efficient service, helping Stewart Mortgage’s clients receive financing and process their loans.



Community involvement is very important to John, as are his favourite activities – golf and hockey. He joined the Downtown Kamloops Rotary Club in 1984, and is still an active member having sat on many committees over the past 23 years. John also became a member of the Rivershore Golf Club in 1987, and has met many friends and clients there over the years. In his spare time, you can either find John on the greens, on the ice, or spending time with his family and grandchildren.
